Authorities have identified a motorcyclist killed in a Friday night collision along State Route 51 in Phoenix.

 

Michael Martel, 67, was killed in the northbound lanes of the highway near Indian School Road at about 10:12 p.m. when a neighboring vehicle swerved into Martel to avoid a collision, the Department of Public Safety said.

Martel was struck by another vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. 

The DPS said the investigation remains ongoing.
