Phoenix police are investigating a fatal drowning at a home in Ahwatukee on Saturday afternoon.

Phoenix fire crews responded to a home near Ray Road and 40th Street just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A nearly 60-year-old man had been discovered submerged in the home’s swimming pool, Phoenix Fire Capt. Rob McDade said. The man was declared dead at the scene, and Phoenix police are investigating, McDade said.

Officials did not release any information about the man’s identity. Phoenix Police said there were no initial signs of foul play.
