A man was found dead after a fire in a mobile home near 43rd and Southern avenues in Phoenix on Wednesday, officials said.
Phoenix Fire Department crews were dispatched for reports of smoke and fire and found heavy fire coming from the mobile home’s roof, according to department spokesperson Capt. Todd Keller.
Crews fought the fire and, during the search and rescue, firefighters found an older man. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Keller said. Keller did not name the man.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and took over the investigation, according to spokesperson Bryant Vanegas.
