A man in his 30s died after being pulled from a Phoenix canal Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Police Department said.

The man was pulled from the Roosevelt Canal near 99th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Phoenix fire Capt. Reda Bigler said crews performed CPR on the man before transporting him to Banner Estrella Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
