A man has been arrested on suspicion of several indecent-exposure incidents after police observed him contacting girls on their way to school, the Mesa Police Department said.
Edgar Mendoza-Coria, 39, was arrested after police received the most recent report of a man exposing himself on Tuesday, officials said.
He was arrested for investigation of six counts of public sexual indecency, six counts of indecent exposure, and one count of resisting arrest, police said.
Mesa police said Wednesday the man is suspected of similar acts dating back to at least February, when officers reported two separate incidents in west Mesa of a man exposing himself to young girls.
After his arrest, Mendoza-Coria admitted to exposing himself for an adrenaline rush and revealed he had been committing similar acts for the past two years in Mesa, police said in a press release.
The man in the February incidents was seen driving a green Ford F150 truck, said the Mesa Police Department.
On Tuesday, police were following an investigative lead in the case when detectives observed a man driving a green truck attempting to contact girls who were walking to school near Extension Road and University Drive in Mesa, police said.
Police said after contacting the girls involved, detectives learned that the man had exposed himself three times in under a minute. He was arrested a short time after that, police said.
All known victims are between the ages of 12 and 17, police said.
The case is still under investigation to determine any additional charges.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the Mesa Police Department at (480) 644-2211.
