A man was arrested Saturday morning after police say he rammed into a police car in a stolen vehicle.
At around 10 a.m., Phoenix police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle near 19th and Peoria Avenues, according to Phoenix police spokeswoman Sgt. Maggie Cox.
When officers located the vehicle and attempted to pull him over, the man hit an unoccupied police vehicle and drove in the direction of officers as he attempted to flee the area, Cox said.
Police attempted to pursue the vehicle, but Cox said they stopped since the person was disobeying traffic laws.
An air unit located the man near the stolen vehicle and directed officers to the area of 23rd Avenue and Paradise Drive, according to Cox.
The man exited the vehicle and tried to flee on foot when police took him into custody, Cox said.
She noted that the man wasn’t injured and the investigation is ongoing. Police did not release the name of the suspect.
