Arizona Rattlers head coach, general manager and now team president Kevin Guy is ready to roll into the 2021 Indoor Football League season.
Guy’s additional role was announced Tuesday by the franchise.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to continue to lead the winningest sports franchise in the state of Arizona into the future,” Guy said. “This is a great time to partner with the Arizona Rattlers.
“The transformation of our home arena Talking Stick Resort Arena, and the growth of the Indoor Football League, will help us build our loyal fan base.”
He also is co-owner with his wife, Cathy, of the Tucson Sugar Skulls, another IFL team that started up in 2019.
Kevin Guy lets his wife focus on the Sugar Skulls, while his focus is on the Rattlers, a franchise that has won six championships, including four under Guy, three in the Arena Football League and one in the team’s first year in the IFL.
The league has expanded to 15 teams, including a third Arizona team in Prescott Valley.
The Rattlers have been in existence since 1992 and won their first ArenaBowl two years later when Danny White was coach and GM.
Guy took over as coach and GM in 2008.
“We will have a winning culture of accountability on both sides of the business,” Guy said. “With the help of Rattler Nation, we will keep building the most dominant home-field advantage in our industry.”
