Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant has declined his $31.5 million player option for next season, according to ESPN, meaning he will become an unrestricted free agent once free agency begins Sunday.

While this move was expected, it’s still significant, as it means Durant — who tore his Achilles in Game 5 of the NBA Finals and is expected to miss all of next season — won’t for sure be with Golden State for the 2019-20 campaign.

Despite the injury, the former league MVP will still have his fair share of suitors.

ESPN reported that Durant, 30, is still considering multiple scenarios, including a return to Golden State. He’s also considering the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers, according to the report.

The Warriors can offer Durant a larger contract — an additional year and over $50 million — than any other team.

Durant, who signed with Golden State in the summer of 2016, won two championships and two Finals MVPs in his first two seasons with the Warriors.
