Want weathered clay pots? You no longer have to wait for Mother Nature.

It takes a long time for salt and minerals to create an antique glaze on clay pots, but this project helps you replicate that dated, weathered look without the long wait.

First, mix two parts water and one part acrylic paint. You can get acrylic paint at any hobby store for about 50 cents. Antique Parchment, an off-white color, is the choice for this clay pot.

Next, apply the mixture onto the pot using a paintbrush — you don’t have to be too neat!

Then, sand most of the paint on the clay pot with 150-grit sandpaper.

Finally, to protect the pot, add a clear coat of sealant.
