High winds that blew through the Phoenix area Monday evening toppled a large decorative scaffolding and fences outside University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale during the NCAA Championship game.

The winds were accompanied by light rain in some areas of Maricopa County, part of a front that moved through the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Peak wind gusts at Sky Harbor International Airport reached 51 mph, officials said.

The front brought high wind gusts to northern Arizona, along with rain and snow in some areas, including Flagstaff, which saw snowfall late in the day.

Power outages left about 4,600 customers without power in Yavapai and Coconino counties, according to Arizona Public Service.

APS said major power lines were interrupted, most likely due to the severe weather.
