Phoenix police said the victim of a shooting in the 2100 block of East Garfield Street died Monday morning.

Police spokesman Sgt. Armando Carbajal said the suspect in the Sunday night shooting is still at large.

Phoenix police found the victim, identified as 37-year-old Hector Olivas, in extremely critical condition after responding to a call about the shooting shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, Carbajal said.

Officers said the man had gunshot wounds. 

According to Carbajal, the Phoenix Fire Department transported the man to a hospital, where he later died.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, Carbajal said.
