Chandler Hamilton junior quarterback Tyler Shough’s only Pac-12 football scholarship offer is from Washington State. That came last week.

But his recruiting took another big turn Tuesday when Alabama offered the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder, who passed for 2,079 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior for the Huskies.

“It was out of the blue, really,” Shough said of the Alabama offer. “I was not talking with them previously. But then I got in contact with Coach (Tosh) Lupoi, the head recruiter there and he offered me.

“I am supposed to talk with Coach (Nick) Saban and (offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian) Daboll soon. The offer is very humbling. I just want to keep grinding and focused on making my team better.”

Meanwhile, Shough said he has been in contact with other schools. But still nobody from the Pac-12 other than Washington State has offered. The Alabama offer might change that.

Shough’s recruiting began to build last week with a Michigan offer from coach Jim Harbaugh. He also has an offer from Missouri.

Hamilton begins spring football on May 1.
