Arizona State freshman Jared Glenn pitched 7 1/3 innings of scoreless relief Friday in a 6-3 Pac-12 opening win at Oregon.
Glenn (2-0) replaced starter Seth Tomczak in the second with ASU trailing 3-1. He gave up three hits the rest of the way at PK Park as No. 23 ASU improved to 12-3, 1-0. The Sun Devils were playing their first road game.
Oregon fell to 8-4, 0-1. Robert Ahlstrom (1-1), current Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, took the loss.
Hunter Jump had a two-RBI double in ASU’s three-run third. Freshman Ethan Long homered in the eighth, his first in college, for two insurance runs.
Game 2 of the series is at 2 p.m. Saturday.
