Glendale Police Department’s SWAT team have cleared the scene after searching for armed burglary suspects Sunday morning.

Police said they were packing up at about 11:30 a.m. and that the suspects had fled the scene, despite searching door to door in the area between 45th and 47th Avenues to Northern Avenue and Frier Drive.

At about 10 a.m. residents had been advised to stay inside their homes as the police and K9 units searched for “armed and dangerous men.”

.

Officer Tiffany Smith said the uniformed SWAT officers checked homes to ensure that the suspects aren’t hiding on properties.

Announcements were made over a PA system in the area and dispatch was working to initial reverse 911 to inform residents of the activity.

Patrol vehicles lined the streets as officers went door-to-door to conduct searches

“This is a very fluid and active scene,” Smith said.

No other details including the description of the suspects were immediately available.

Anyone who witnesses any suspicious activity or with any information on the suspects’ whereabouts are asked to call 911.
