A Gilbert woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Grants Pass, Ore. early Thursday.
Gabriella Licata, 22, was found about 12:42 a.m. lying in the westbound lanes of Grants Pass Parkway just shy of Rogue River Highway, according to a news release from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
Passers-by attempted to revive Licita but were unable, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe she was hit while walking on the parkway by a light-colored sedan. About 8 a.m. Thursday, a patrol officer found a car that matched the description.
Police confirmed that a male had been taken into custody but no charges had yet been filed.
An investigation was ongoing as police worked to reconstruct the scene.
