The Gila River Police Department is searching for a driver who fled after fatally striking a woman with a vehicle on the evening of Sept. 22 in Sacaton, officials said.

The woman was later identified as 29-year-old Natasha Cooper, who was in the process of placing a sign near State Route 87 and Saint Road when a vehicle struck and killed her, records said.

The suspect fled the scene, and both the suspect and vehicle description has not been identified, according to Gila police.
