Some of those former players are playing a big role for their new teams.
With the NBA playoffs into the conference finals, the Heat Index takes a look at the former Suns still playing this season.

There was a former Suns player on every playoff team in the Eastern Conference and a former Suns player on four of the eight playoff teams in the Western Conference.
Still in playoffs:
Matt Barnes, Golden State Warriors
Barnes played with Phoenix in 20008-09 season. He is averaging 1.2 points per game in the playoffs.
Channing Frye, Cleveland Cavaliers
Frye was on the Suns from 2009-14. He’s averaging 8.1 points per game in the playoffs this season.

Gerald Green, Boston Celtics
Green played in Phoenix during 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. He’s averaging 7.2 points per game in the playoffs.
James Jones, Cleveland Cavaliers
Jones was on the Suns from 2005-07. He hasn’t scored yet in the postseason.
Isaiah Thomas, Boston Celtics
Thomas played in Phoenix in 2014-15 season. He’s averaging 24.8 points per game and 6.7 assists per game in the playoffs.

Boris Diaw, Utah Jazz
Diaw played for the Suns from 2005-08. He averaged 5.7 points per game in the playoffs.

Joe Johnson, Utah Jazz
Johnson was on the Suns was 2001-05. He averaged 12.9 points per game in the playoffs.

Markieff Morris, Washington Wizards
Morris was on the Suns from 2011-16. He’ averaged 12.1 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
P.J. Tucker, Toronto Raptors
Tucker played in Phoenix from 2012 until he was traded earlier this season. He averaged five points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
Eliminated in first round of playoffs:
Michael Beasley, Milwaukee Bucks
Beasley played with Suns in 2012-13 (Suns still paying him $777,777 this season). He averaged 4.3 points per game in the playoffs.
Aaron Brooks, Indiana Pacers
Brooks played in Phoenix in 2010-11. He averaged five points per game in the playoffs.
Vince Carter, Memphis Grizzlies
Carter played for the Suns in 2010-11. He averaged 9.2 points per game in the playoffs.
