A brush fire has temporarily closed northbound Interstate 17 at Sunset Point, north of Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

One southbound lane remains open between Badger Springs and Sunset Point.

Badger Springs Road was already closed due to another blaze, the Brooklyn Complex Fire, according to fire spokesman Frank Mosbacher.

Officials gave no estimate as to when the road would re-open, and suggested that people driving from Phoenix to Northern Arizona use U.S. 60 or the Beeline Highway to avoid the closure. There is no possible detour around the fire from I 17.
