Officials are looking for a man who they believe shot a 53-year-old man in a road-rage incident in Maryvale on Tuesday, the Phoenix Police Department said.

The victim was driving near 83rd Avenue and Osborn Road around 4:15 p.m. when another driver entered the roadway from a neighborhood and cut him off, said Phoenix police Sgt. Vince Lewis.

The victim yelled at the other driver while they were stopped at the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road, Lewis said.

The other driver then pulled forward, made a U-turn and fired a shot at the victim as he drove by, Lewis said.

The victim was struck in the leg and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooter was driving a black Chrysler 200 with chrome rims, but no other description of the driver was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
