Phoenix police have arrested the driver of a vehicle that rolled over and left four children with serious injuries on Friday.

Arlexis Gloria, 38, was booked into jail on suspicion of possession and selling of marijuana, as well as a previous warrant, police said.

The crash occurred at about 5:15 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of West Buckeye Road in Phoenix, officials said. Gloria was driving a sedan that contained another adult and four children, although there were just two seatbelts in the backseat and no child booster seats, Phoenix police said.

Gloria, for unknown reasons, lost control and hit a pole, police said.

Three girls, ages 5, 6 and 10, and a 6-year-old boy were injured, officials said. All were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, but are expected to survive, police said.

Neither Gloria nor the other adult passenger was taken to the hospital, Phoenix fire officials said.

Gloria was not impaired at the time of his arrest, police said.
