Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed is in Thursday’s lineup, his first game action since March 6.

Ahmed missed 10 days of Diamondbacks spring training games with knee soreness. He started at shortstop and batted second in Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

“Obviously several days off, but he’s been keeping himself in great baseball shape,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said of Ahmed. “Super excited that he is back.”

Ahmed popped out to shallow left field in his first at-bat Thursday. He participated in defensive drills on Wednesday after being scratched from Tuesday’s game due to what Lovullo described as a “very minor personal situation,” which Lovullo said was resolved.
