Numerous crews were battling a brush fire in the Anthem area Friday, Phoenix fire officials said.

The fire had burnedabout 20 acres by early evening, in an area west of Interstate 17 and the Outlets at Anthem, officials said.

No structures were immediately threatened, but the fire was moving northeast, officials said. The closest neighborhoods were about a quarter mile from the edge of the fire, to the northwest, officials added.

Crews from the Phoenix and Daisy Mountain fire departments were on the scene, officials said. They were being assisted by an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter and the Bureau of Land Management.
