A 63-year-old woman was killed Sunday when the vehicle she was riding in was struck in a T-bone crash in West Phoenix, officials said.
Rosa Gonzales Sanchez, was a passenger in a black Hyundia Accent when it made a left turn and crashed with a green Jeep Grand Cherokee, Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said.
The Jeep hit the passenger side of the Accent. The collision occurred at about 8:30 a.m. near 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street, Fortune said.
According to officials, Gonzales Sanchez was transported from the crash to a local hospital with critical injures where she later died.
According to Fortune, the vehicle carrying Gonzales Sanchez was driven by a 73-year-old man who suffered serious injures. The other vehicle was driven by an 18-year-old man, but impairment was not determined to be a factor.
