Chandler police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting at a tattoo parlor that injured a child who was struck by shattered glass in a barber shop next door.

Michael David Hart, 23, was arrested on suspicion of firing multiple shots after a dispute with employees at the tattoo shop, said Detective Seth Tyler, a Chandler police spokesman. The parlor is located at 590 N. Alma School Road.

No one was struck by the bullets.

Hart was arrested without incident Tuesday at his residence in the 1500 block of West Naranja Avenue in Mesa. His residence is close to Dobson High School so the school was put on lockdown because of the police activity, Tyler said.

The child, who was younger than 10, was sitting inside a nearby barber shop Monday morning when he was struck by glass debris, Chandler police spokesman Sgt. Daniel Mejia said. The boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
