Chandler senior linebacker Kyler Orr will play football and serve his country for the Air Force Academy.
Orr announced that he accepted his appointment with the military academy on social media Sunday.
Orr, 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, is a big part of the Chandler defense that last year led to a 13-0 Open Division state championship with 84 tackles, two sacks, an interception and a caused fumble.
“Kyler Orr is a perfect fit for the Air Force Academy, both in the classroom and on the football field,” Chandler coach Rick Garretson said. “He brings an energy at linebacker that allows him to perform at a high level.
“He’s a self-driven individual whose work ethic will allow him to become everything he chooses to be with an Air Force Academy degree.”
Orr is the seventh Chandler football player to commit to a Division I college.
