A wildfire has burned more than 150 acres east of Interstate 17, between Anthem and New River, the Arizona State Department of Forestry tweeted Saturday afternoon.
The blaze, named the Central Fire, is 0% contained as of Saturday afternoon, according to Tiffany Davila, a spokeswoman for the Department of Forestry.
The fire is moving north into the Tonto National Forest and is about half a mile away from residential areas, Davila said. The fire started off Mingus Road.
There are no evacuations at this time, the Department of Forestry tweeted.
There are about 70 fire personnel fighting the Central Fire, according to Davila.
Fire crews are also getting help from “aircraft,” the Department of Forestry said in a tweet.
The I-17 is not impacted by the fire, though there may be road closures “through residential communities,” Davila said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation..
