Two cars collided near 44th Street and Chandler Boulevard, and hit two pedestrians waiting for a bus.

Four people were hospitalized Sunday evening after two cars crashed at an Ahwatukee intersection and then careened into a bus stop.

According to the Phoenix fire and police departments, two sedans collided around 5:30 p.m. near 44th Street and Chandler Boulevard. One of the cars left the road and struck two people waiting for the bus.

Both of the drivers and the two pedestrians were taken to hospitals with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Mercedes Fortune.

A 34-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were transported in stable, but serious condition, according to Phoenix Fire Captain Reda Bigler. A 66-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman suffered minor injuries, Bigler said.

Fortune said that it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
