Byron Evans II, the son of former NFL star linebacker Byron Evans, has signed with the Indoor Football League Arizona Rattlers.
Evans, 6-foot, 230 pounds, played linebacker at Phoenix Christian, Glendale Community College and Northern Arizona.
The Rattlers also signed former University of Central Oklahoma linebacker Alex Figueroa (6-3, 240). He started his college career at the University of Miami and finished with 121 career tackles.
Both will be rookies in the league.
Evans played from 2017-19 at NAU. In 20 games, he had 119 tackles, 6.5 tackles for losses, a sack and an interception.
His father Byron Evans is in his first year as head football coach at his alma mater, Phoenix South Mountain High. Byron Sr., starred at the University of Arizona and for eight seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Evans was helping his father coach at South Mountain, before the district closed down fall sports in mid-August because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
