Brandon Weston, rated among the top seniors in the nation, has transferred from Morgan Park High School in Chicago to play basketball for Hillcrest Prep in Gilbert.

Weston, 6-foot-5, 195 pounds, has a 247 Sports Composite overall national ranking of No. 63 in the 2021 class.

He averaged 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for Morgan Park last season.

Weston announced his move to Hillcrest on social media Friday.

Hillcrest co-founder and recruiter Nick Weaver says Weston is “as tough as they come.”

“He is an elite defender who can guard multiple positions,” Weaver said. “He has an incredible ability to get to the bucket when he wants to. He is a big, physical guard.”

Westson joins a loaded roster that is led by 6-9 senior Michael Foster, who is ranked among the top 10 players in the nation. Omaha Biliew, 6-8, 220, ranked No. 4 overall in the nation by ESPN in teh 2023 class, transferred in this summer, as well as 6-4 guard Trey Pettigrew, who is a four-star.

Weston has offers from Michigan, Illinois, Iowa State, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Texas and Massachusetts.

“He will help make us a national championship contender,” Weaver said.
