When and where is the azcentral.com Sports Awards?

The azcentral.com Sports Awards will take place April 30, 2017 at ASU Gammage.

What’s included with my ticket?

Both purchased and complimentary tickets include entry into the event and a seat in the event space. There is no food being served or sold at the event. The ticket does not include any access to celebrity guest, Larry Fitzgerald.

What will happen the night of the event?

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm, so all ticket holders are welcome to arrive during this time. All attendees must have a ticket to enter the venue. Athletes should arrive no later than 7pm and will need to check in (follow signs for check in). As you enter the venue there will be a red carpet experience with photo opportunities for all event attendees. You will need to enter the event space by 7:45pm to be seated for the 8pm show start. The show will feature various awards, entertainment, and celebrity guest, Larry Fitzgerald. As award winners are announced they will be brought on stage to accept the award.

What is a player of the year award?

A player of the year award recognizes the performance and accomplishments of individual athletes by sport.

What is a premier award?

A premier award honors a greater on or off-the-field achievement of athletes, coaches and schools.

How are winners chosen?

There are three categories of winners for the azcentral.com Sports Awards.

– The Male and Female Athlete of the Year, as well as winners in the at-large categories (e.g. Unsung Hero Award), are selected by a vote of the azcentral sports staff from a list of finalists.

– The Athletes and Coaches of the Year in each sport are selected by azcentral sports’ high school staff members.

– Fan Experience winners are chosen by public vote.

What do I wear to the event?

This is a red carpet award show, cocktail attire is recommended.

What time should I arrive to the event?

Doors will open at 7pm and the show will begin at 8pm.

Who will have access to celebrity guest athlete, Larry Fitzgerald?

Larry Fitzgerald will be seen by the general public on stage for the question and answer portion of the event. There will be no opportunities for photos or autographs. No outside media will have access to him.

Where will I be seated?

This event is general admission seating. All purchased ticket holders will be seated in the general admission area, on a first come, first served basis.

Where can I view photos of the event afterwards?

Coverage of the event will be posted here after the event. The azcentral.com staff will also be posting coverage on both their website and their social media.
