Paul Goldschmidt hit two of Arizona’s five homers, and the Diamondbacks avoided a sweep by pounding the Cincinnati Reds 9-2 on Sunday.

Daniel Descalso, Eduardo Escobar and David Peralta also connected for Arizona, and Zack Godley pitched 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball. Goldschmidt finished with three hits and three RBIs, and Peralta also drove in three runs.

Godley (13-6) snapped a tie with Zack Greinke for the team lead in wins. The right-hander allowed six hits, struck out six and walked one while improving to 5-0 with a 3.09 ERA over his last six road starts.

Godley has been impressive in his past two starts, giving up a total of two runs in 14 1/3 innings. He walked just one batter in each outing while striking out a combined 17. … He threw well against the Reds on May 29, allowing two runs in six innings. … 1B Joey Votto is 6 for 9 with a double and a homer against Godley. … Castillo has had an up and down season, but he appears to be on one of his good stretches, having posted a 2.43 ERA in his past six starts, with six walks and 28 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings. … The Diamondbacks handled him well when they saw him in late May, scoring five runs (four earned) off him in five innings. In that game, Castillo allowed a first-inning, two-run homer to 1B Daniel Descalso. … He was dominant against the Diamondbacks in a start last season, tossing 6 2/3 scoreless innings, with one walk and eight strikeouts.
