Coyotes (29-41-9) vs. Stars (32-36-11)

Puck drop: 5:30 p.m.

TV/Radio: Fox Sports Arizona-Plus/KTAR-AM (620).

Coyotes winger Radim Vrbata won’t play tonight against the Stars.

“Lower-body injury,” coach Dave Tippett said. “Day-to-day.”

The Coyotes will be without defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson for the rest of the season as he’s returned to Sweden following the death of his mother.

“When she passed away a few weeks ago, it was a struggle for him,” Tippett said. “I give him a ton of credit. He was a true professional trying to get through it. But now this week is the funeral, so he left to go home. But you can tell that was on his mind a lot all year and then finally when it was coming down to the last few days, it was tough for him.”

After playing their final road game of the season against the Stars, the Coyotes will return home for two more games.

“Our young players have continued to play hard,” Tippett said. “Our veterans are leading the way a little bit. We want to continue that. Nobody likes to be in this situation, but it is what it is. There’s young players that need to continue to grow. Guys playing for contracts. You just want to play an honest game. That’s what you’re looking for.”
