The Coyotes open a back-to-back tonight at home against the Avalanche before visiting the Kings tomorrow.
“Lots to play for,” coach Dave Tippett said. “There’s part of last game I didn’t like as much, but the last couple games I feel like we’ve played well. We have to continue to do that. Our young players are contributing, which is a big factor for us right now. We need everybody. We need our veterans to play well. We’re in a situation we gotta go out and play to win every night. That’s what we expect our players to do.”

This is the start of four games in six nights for the Coyotes.
“Especially those young players, recognize situations,” Tippett said. “Tight games, tough games, managing not just on the ice but off the ice – your rest, mental attitude toward games, all the above. Continue to teach and learn.”
Center Brad Richardson, who’s recovering from suffering broken tibia and fibula bones in his right leg, skated Monday.
“Richardson was off for a couple days getting some different treatment,” Tippett said. “He came back today. He said he’s feeling all right but not (ready to return) any time in the near future.”
