The New York Jets, however, desperately need one after starting the season with an abysmal 0-4 record (and being outscored 131-65).

The Arizona Republic: Cardinals 27, Jets 17
Kent Somers writes: “The Jets are the worst team in the NFL. The Cardinals can’t lose to them, can they? Yes, they can. They proved that last week with their performance against Carolina. But will they? No. I think the Panthers loss got their attention.”
The Arizona Republic: Cardinals 27, Jets 17
Katherine Fitzgerald writes: “The Cardinals’ offense has yet to hit its full potential, but Sunday, it gets back on the right track. The defense will look more like it did earlier in the season, though with the caveat that it is against the Jets. Murray should spend more time looking downfield as the Cardinals snap their brief losing streak.”
The Arizona Republic: Cardinals 28, Jets 13
Emily Horos writes: “It’s must-win time for the Cardinals. The season is already in the tank for the Jets and the Cardinals will be in the same boat if they don’t get a win this week.”

CBS Sports: Cardinals 31, Jets 20
Pete Prisco writes: “The Cardinals are playing consecutive road games on the on the opposite coast, which is tough to do. Unless it’s against the Jets. The Jets are awful and Arizona lost a game they shouldn’t have last week in Carolina. They get back on track here. The Jets stay winless. “
Yahoo Sports: Cardinals will beat Jets
Frank Schwab writes: “I don’t know what to make of the Cardinals right now. The loss to the Lions in Week 3 wasn’t the worst thing. They looked awful against the Panthers though. This pick is pretty simple: I can’t take the Jets with any kind of confidence, so I’ll likely be picking whoever they’re playing by default.”
Vinnie Iyer writes: “This sounds like a trap game for Arizona, but then again, the team fell into them hard against Detroit and Carolina and will be eager to rebound in a plus matchup for Kyler Murray and everything in the offense. The Jets simply cannot stop the run or cover DeAndre Hopkins. The Jets should be healthier around Joe Flacco, likely filling in for Sam Darnold. to put up some points against a struggling Cardinals defense, but Murray will keep the visitors flying higher.”
Bill Bender writes: “The Cardinals have lost back-to-back games, but a trip to New York should get Kyler Murray pointed back in the right direction. The Jets rank 31st in the NFL in scoring offense, and Sam Darnold is questionable for the game with a shoulder injury. Is it Joe Flacco time?”
Sportsnaut: Cardinals 35, Jets 10
Vincent Frank writes: “Hapless. Humiliating. Pathetic. Any which way we use to describe what Adam Gase’s Jets have looked like through three weeks would be an understatement. Here’s a squad that ranks dead last in points scored and 31st in points allowed. It suffered a blowout 36-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts back in Week 3, a game that saw Sam Darnold hand Indianapolis 16 points on his own. The team was a bit more competitive in Week 4, but fell to the injury-plagued Broncos on “Thursday Night Football.” As for the Cardinals, they came crashing back down to earth big time during a mistake-filled Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions. After being seen as a legit MVP candidate earlier in the campaign, second-year quarterback Kyler Murray threw three picks in that defeat. Arizona was then defeated soundly by Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers in Week 4. Even then, the Jets lack any real talent to keep this one close.”
Gil Alcaraz IV writes: “For the last two weeks, I’ve been confident in the Arizona Cardinals’ ability to win. As you probably know, they’ve let me down both weeks, stumbling against the Detroit Lions before letting Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers put on a show in Week 4. Luckily for them, a Week 5 matchup with the New York Jets should allow them to right the ship and get back above .500. Why? Because Gang Green is arguably the worst team in the NFL right now — the defense can’t make enough stops to make up for a complete lack of offense. If they couldn’t keep Brett Rypien and his three interceptions from getting the win, they certainly can’t contain Kyler Murray and his outstanding offensive weapons. The Cardinals defense hasn’t been great this year, but slowing down Sam Darnold should be a cakewalk considering the way he’s played so far in 2020. The Cardinals have the talent to make a run at the playoffs, especially with an extra team per conference getting a postseason invite. Putting a hurting on the Jets and ending this losing streak is a must if they hope to make their playoff dreams a reality.”

Kristopher Knox writes: “The Arizona Cardinals are on a two-game losing streak, but there’s a good chance that it comes to an end against the New York Jets in Week 5. The Jets are a lost team right now, having been defeated in its first four games while playing like the worst team in football. Quarterback Sam Darnold hasn’t shown the growth one would expect from a third-year quarterback, and Adam Gase is coaching as the lamest of ducks. The New York defense, meanwhile, has been inconsistent at best. The Jets rank 22nd against the run and 15th against the pass, but they’ve allowed the third-most points in the NFL—32.75 of them per game. If the Jets can give up 37 points and lose by 11 to the banged-up Broncos and third-string quarterback Brett Rypien, they’re not going to stand much of a chance against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.”
