The Cardinals’ offense is clicking with Kyler Murray running the ball. Will that continue in Week 3 against the winless Detroit Lions?
Arizona Republic
Cardinals wide receiver Christian Kirk missed his third consecutive day of practice on Friday because of a groin issue and has been ruled out of Sunday’s game for precautionary reasons, according to coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Kirk was injured during last week’s 30-15 victory over Washington and Kingsbury said he is hopeful it will only be a “week-to-week” injury to monitor.
With second-year receiver KeeSean Johnson being activated from the COVID-19/reserve list on Monday, the Cardinals will have an ample set of targets for quarterback Kyler Murray with DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, Andy Isabella and Trent Sherfield and the ability to promote another wideout from the practice squad.

Kingsbury said Johnson and Isabella could probably split the lion’s share of offensive snaps at the No.3 receiver spot behind Hopkins and Fitzgerald, adding, “I think both guys will see more time and have chance to kind of show how they’ve developed and what we’ve seen in camp and how that can hopefully translate to the field. But they’ll definitely be in the mix.”
