The iconic shortstop will have his number retired.

The New York Yankees are planning to retire Derek Jeter’s No. 2 jersey between games of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Houston Astros.

The list of legends expected to be present for the ceremony on Mother’s Day range from Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson to all-time saves leader Mariano Rivera.

Not on the list of attendees the Yankees distributed is Alex Rodriguez, who shared the same side of the diamond with Jeter for 10 seasons.

A-Rod’s omission on the list is quite notable. The relationship between Jeter and A-Rod has appeared to deteriorate over the years. But, according to A-Rod’s publicist Ron Berkowitz, he claims Rodriguez will be in Miami spending Mother’s Day with his mother.

Among those in attendance include the other three members of the core four — Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada — that won five World Series titles together. Also expected in attendance are David Cone, Tino Martinez, Hideki Matsui, Paul O’Neill, Bernie Williams, Gerald Williams, Willie Randolph and Joe Girardii, among others.
