A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street on Tuesday morning in Laveen.
Officers responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area near South 59th Avenue and Baseline Road, according to Sgt. Ann Justus, a Phoenix police spokesperson.
Police found a teen who was struck by a vehicle traveling north on 59th Avenue. The teen walked into the roadway and was not in a crosswalk, an email from Justus stated.
The location is in the area of Betty H. Fairfax High School.
The teen was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver remained at the location.
