2:55p.m. Tuesday: All I-17 southbound lanes blocked
A crash involving a motorcycle blocked all southbound Interstate 17 lanes near Rock Springs Tuesday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Arizona Department of Transportation officials suggested drivers seek alternate routes.
Traffic along the I-17 corridor appeared to be sparse Tuesday afternoon prior to the accident. About 30 minutes before the crash, ADOT had shared on Twitter photos of near-empty stretches of highway.
The department enforced reduced speed limits on I-17 for Fourth of July traffic.
8:40 p.m. Monday: Backups still snarling I-17 north of Bumble Bee
The backup on the southbound side of Interstate 17 north of Bumble Bee still was about 3 miles long two hours after one of the two lanes opened in the wake of a serious traffic accident.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed three helicopters were flown to the scene to transport three people who were seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on southbound I-17 at milepost 247, near Bumble Bee.
DPS said the three people were ejected from the vehicle. Two others were not ejected and less seriously injured.
Their conditions were unavailable late Monday.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said backups at one point had reached about 8 miles.
6:25 p.m. Monday: One lane reopens on I-17 after serious crash, backups remain.
One lane had reopened on southbound I-17 near Bumble Bee after a serious crash had closed the highway, causing long backups.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed three helicopters were flown to the scene to transport three people who were seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on southbound I-17 at milepost 247, near Bumble Bee.
Numerous DPS and fire vehicles remained at the scene.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said backups, which had reached 6 miles, were expected to linger as traffic moved slowly past the accident scene.
5:55 p.m. Monday: I-17 backups grow after serious crash.
Backups on southbound I-17 north of Bumble Bee had reached 2 miles about 50 minutes after a major accident shut both southbound lanes to the highway.
Earlier, reports indicated three helicopters were being flown to the scene, at milepost 247 near Bumblebee, to transport injured.
Numerous DPS and fire vehicles were at the scene.
5:35 p.m. Monday: Serious crash on SB I-17 north of Black Canyon City.
A serious traffic accident was reported on southbound Interstate 17 near Bumble Bee, north of Black Canyon City, according to reports from the Arizona Department of Transportation and state Department of Public Safety.
Initial reports indicated at least three helicopters were being dispatched to the scene for injuries.
The accident was blocking both southbound lanes, and early backups had reached 1 mile.
4:40 p.m. Monday: I-17 traffic reported smooth heading north
The Arizona Department of Transportation reported traffic was moving smoothly north of the Phoenix area.
The agency tweeted photos showing fairly clear highway conditions directions near McGuireville and Cordes Junction.
4 p.m. Monday: Crash closes portion of SR 260 west of Heber
A serious crash closed SR 260 about 9 miles east of Young Road and west of Heber in both directions about 4 p.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
A portion of the road was able to reopen briefly but was closed again about a half hour later to allow for a medical evacuation for injuries.
Details on the accident weren’t available.
7 a.m. Monday: Crash closes I-10 east of Benson
Eastbound Interstate 10 was closed east of Benson for a crash, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The closure was at Milepost 318. The roadway was reopened about 8:30 a.m.
Westbound I-10 traffic was unaffected by the crash.
4 a.m. Monday: Bus driver dies in I-10 crash near Quartzsite
A bus driver was killed early Monday morning and two passengers injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 10 in western Arizona, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 4 a.m. about 10 miles west of Quartzsite, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation,
Trooper Kameron Lee, DPS spokesman, said information about the bus and who was on it was not immediately available.
The bus was carrying 13 passengers when it crashed, and two passengers were transported to a hospital for treatment, Lee said.
California-bound traffic was stopped for about two hours, ADOT said. The right lane of the freeway reopened just before 6 a.m.
DPS troopers were working to clear the scene and did not have an approximate time of when the second westbound lane would re-open.
Sunday: Motorcyclist dies in crash near Tucson
A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash on State Route 86 near Tucson Sunday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The motorcycle collided with another vehicle about 11 a.m. while traveling west on SR 86 at Milepost 186, officials said.
10 p.m. Saturday: I-40 reopened after crash
All lanes of the interstate are open after a crash blocked traffic at Milepost 58 in Kingman earlier in the day, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
All lanes of the Interstate 10 eastbound at 43rd avenue are open after a vehicle fire blocked the two right lanes at 8 p.m.
A crash is blocking the left lane of the I-17 southbound at 19th Avenue.
US 93 is open at Milepost 93 near Wikieup after a vehicle fire shut down the highway.
6 p.m. Saturday: Crash blocking I-40 EB in Kingman
A crash is blocking the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 at Milepost 58 near Kingman, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
Traffic is passing on the shoulder.
Motorists should expect delays.
5:15 p.m. Saturday: I-40 EB reopened near Holbrook
Interstate 40 eastbound was re-opened at Milepost 322 east of Holbrook after being closed for a crash just after 4:15 p.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
The right lane remains blocked for the crash, which may continue to cause delays along the highway.
Traffic was again flowing normally along northbound State Route 87 near Payson after an 8-mile backup caused delays for drivers just before 3 p.m.
The delays were caused by a vehicle fire near milepost 246, ADOT said earlier on Saturday.
4:15 p.m. Saturday: I-40 EB closed near Holbrook
Interstate 40 eastbound was closed at Milepost 322 east of Holbrook just before 4:15 p.m due to a crash, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
There was no estimated time to reopen the freeway.
3:30 p.m. Saturday: I-17 NB mostly clear
Traffic was mostly clear on the northbound lanes of Interstate 17 north of Phoenix after a 20-mile backup snarled traffic at about 1 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said there were no crashes and all lanes were open.
2:40 p.m. Saturday: Lanes clear, but traffic still heavy
All lanes are now open on State route 87 northbound to Payson, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
However, drivers can still expect an 8-mile traffic backup.
1 p.m. Saturday: Heavy traffic continues from Phoenix to Payson
The traffic backup from Phoenix to Payson on State Route 87 northbound has grown due to a vehicle fire at milepost 246, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
10:50 a.m. Saturday: Heavy traffic on last stretch from Phoenix to Payson
Anyone traveling from Phoenix to Payson via the SR 87 should expect delays on the last stretch into Payson, according to a tweet from the Arizona Department of Transportation.
10:30 a.m. Saturday: 20 miles of heavy traffic on I-17 northbound
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, there is 20 miles of heavy traffic for anyone trying to leave Phoenix via the Interstate-17 northbound.
The stretch of impacted traffic is from Anthem to Sunset Point. Plan your holiday travel accordingly.
6 p.m. Friday: 10-mile backup on State Route 87
There were 10 miles of backed-up traffic on northbound State Route 87 starting at the Bush Highway early Friday evening, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a tweet.
About 45 minutes before, State Route 87 reopened in both directions at Milepost 210 on the Fort McDowell Reservation after being shut down because of a brush fire in the area.
The highway had only been closed for about half an hour before officials reopened it. The fire started just as numerous Valley residents were heading to Mogollon Rim country for the holiday weekend. SR 87, also known as the Beeline Highway, is a major link to Payson and points beyond.
5:15 p.m. Friday: Beeline Highway reopens after brush fire forces closure
State Route 87 reopened in both directions near the Fort McDowell Indian Reservation, 23 miles northeast of Phoenix, after a brush fire prompted officials to close the highway at about 4:45 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the fire would likely cause delays on the road, also known as the Beeline Highway, and encouraged drivers to avoid the area.
SR 87 is a major link between the Valley and Payson, as well as numerous Mogollon Rim communities.
4:45 p.m. Friday: Brush Fire closes Beeline Highway
A brush fire that sparked near Fort McDowell, 23 miles northeast of Phoenix, shut down State Route 87 in both directions at Milepost 210.
