A man accused of domestic violence who fled Goodyear police on Monday has been arrested and booked at the Fourth Avenue Jail.
Jaylin Bowers, 25, was suspected of beating and threatening to kill his girlfriend, according to police, but when Goodyear police officers came to arrest him on Monday at a Super 8 motel off of Dysart Road and Interstate 10, Bowers fled the scene.
Bowers was suspected of being at a Home Depot off of Dysart Road. Police evacuated the store, but Bowers was not found.
At the request of the Goodyear Police Department, Surprise police responded to a residence near Greenway and Dysart roads, where Bowers was found in the street outside, said Surprise Police Department spokesperson Tommy Hale.
He was brought into custody on Tuesday by Surprise police, but not before running away, attempting to escape arrest a second time. Police successfully detained Bowers, and he is now in custody, said Hale.
Bowers is facing two counts of aggravated assault for impeding breathing, three counts of assault, one count of unlawful imprisonment, one count of threatening or intimidation, and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, according to police. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
