Sony has announced details about the highly anticipated PlayStation 5.
During a Wednesday PS5 live stream showcase, Sony announced the video game console will cost $499.99 when it launches on Nov. 12.
A digital model, without a disc drive, will also be available the same day with a starting price of $399.99.

Preorders for the PS5 consoles begin Sept. 17 at “select retailers,” according to a tweet from Sony. Target and Best Buy already have placeholder pages where you can sign up for notifications once the consoles and gear are available for pre-order.
In a tweet on Sept. 16 Walmart jumped the gun on the preorder date.
“Make you wait to get the new #PlayStation5? Nah, that’s not like us. Go on, preorder it NOW!” the Tweet read. Walmart made preorders available online, but the console is already sold out according to the website. However, wireless controllers were still available as of Wednesday.
During the event, Sony also played several trailers of new games coming to the PS5 including God of War: Ragnarok, Final Fantasy 16, Hogwarts Legacy, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War and PS5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
