Police responded to reports of gunshots fired about 8:30 p.m. and found a man lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, said Phoenix Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Tommy Thompson. 

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Thompson said.

Thompson said Wednesday afternoon that there was no suspect information available at that time.
