Here is a look at the Arizona high school baseball top teams, regardless of conference, by The Arizona Republic. This will be updated each week. Here is the preseason top 10.

Baseball Super 10

No. 1 Chandler Hamilton Huskies

This 6A powerhouse took a step back last season but should be back to being the powerhouse that coach Mike Woods has built, led by junior outfielder Michael Brueser and enough talented arms to win it all.

No. 2 Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor Eagles

The defending 6A champs will miss the heart and soul of last year’s team in third  baseman Nolan Gorman (a first-round draft pick by the St. Louis Cardinals). But a good  core, led by pitcher Cal Lambert and the Skaugrud brothers (Mason and Barrett) return to lead another formidable team.

No. 3 Nogales Apaches

This is a juggernaut, led by Arizona-bound German Fajarado and Pepperdine-bound Jesus Lopez and Gonzaga-commit Matt Bachelier.

No. 4 Tempe Corona del Sol Aztecs

Last year’s team was good. This might be better with Arizona State-bound Brian Kalmer leading the way.

No. 5  Gilbert Mesquite Wildcats

If big right-hander Davis Heller can stay healthy, this is a state-championship team. He is that dominant. An injury caused him to miss most of his junior season.

No. 6 Glendale Mountain Ridge Lions

They’ve got the pieces again to make a run to the 6A final with pitcher Zach Martinez leading a strong staff.

No. 7 Mesa Mountain View Toros

Led by Sean Rimmer, a  6A title would de a great gift for retiring coach Mike Thiel, who last led the Toros to a championship in 1998.

No. 8 Chandler Basha Bears

They’ve always got pitching depth and players who know how to produce runs. Infielder Ty Siffermann is the spark.

No. 9 Phoenix Mountain Pointe Pride

With Carson Tucker leading  the way, Coach Matt Denny has had enough time to get this team built into a team  that can give anybody in 6A a run.

No. 10 Tucson Sabino Sabercats

They had their 3A championship trophy taken away, which is enough motivation to win it this year with Preston Clifford and Joey Cammarata set for big seasons.
