The lineup has been announced for the brand-new Lost Lake Festival in central Phoenix this fall.

The Killers, Chance the Rapper, Major Lazer, Odesza, the Roots, Run the Jewels, the Pixies, Haim and Ludacris are among the higher-profile artists set to play at the inaugural music festival.

Superfly, the co-creators of the iconic Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music Festival, will launch the multi-format Lost Lake Festival at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix the weekend of Oct. 20-22.

Eclectic mix of acts

It’s an eclectic mix of acts and that was the idea.

“It accomplishes exactly what we wanted,” says Superfly co-founder Rick Farman. “Real diversity but something that’s cohesive.”

That’s always the goal at a Superfly festival.

“Hopefully,” Farman says, “we’ve been one of the leaders of creating these types of balanced lineups.”

Adding to that balance? Huey Lewis and the News.

“We really like having some sort of retro throwbacks artists that haven’t been doing this sort of thing,” says Farman. “And Huey, his show is all about a party. People like to have a good time in Phoenix. People like to get out and party. Huey seemed to check a couple boxes in that he hasn’t been doing this sort of thing. And we feel like his energy matches what we’re trying to do.”

The lineup also features local artists Kongos, Playboy Manbaby, Bogan Via and Luna Aura, selected with the help of the Lost Lake’s local partners, in addition to a Superfly signature experience, the SuperJam, where a curated a group of artists and musicians perform together for a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration.

The three-day event will feature more than 40 artists ranging from “iconic to of-the-moment national talent,” as well as regional and local acts performing on multiple stages across the 75-acre park.There are three main performance areas and a fourth where Farman says they plan to program different types of entertainment, not just music.

Three-day general admission tickets start at $164.50 with VIP tickets starting at $499.50. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at LostLakeFestival.com.

With regard to the last name on that list, a folk-rock band from Madison, Wisc., Farman says, “We figured they deserve it.”

The festival is created in conjunction with the city of Phoenix, and partners from Stateside Presents, Walter Productions, AndBoogie, Starr Hill and A Beautiful Perspective.

Chris Bianco to lead culinary experience 

The Lost Lake Festival was designed to reflects the city’s culture through a curated selection of arts and entertainment, local culinary and beverage offerings, and backyard style game experiences. Local chef and restaurateur, Chris Bianco, owner of Phoenix’s iconic Pizzeria Bianco, will lead Lost Lake Festival’s culinary experience, “Phoenix Flavors.”

Bianco, a James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Southwest, helped spawn a generation of independent and artisanal pizzerias around the country. Festival-goers can enjoy food from dozens of top Phoenix restaurants, and drinks from local breweries and a collection of the region’s best cocktail bars.

In addition to Phoenix Flavors, the culinary experience will include the Pits, a BBQ experience, and the Brewpark, a craft beers and backyard bar-games area.

The festival will also feature the Lost Playground, interactive play areas spread throughout the park offering unique twists on large-scale games and sports.

Local artists will be featured with Art of the Valley, highlighting artwork from emerging talent and Phoenix favorites; and Found: The Lost Lake Marketplace, will include a curated selection of crafts, jewelry, clothing, and more from regional makers and creators.
