A family of four was sleeping soundly when at least five armed people broke into their home and demanded drugs early Tuesday in Phoenix, police said.

When no drugs were found, the intruders took property instead and left, said Sgt. Vince Lewis, a Phoenix police spokesman.

It happened around 3 a.m. at a home near 35th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.

Lewis said no one in the home reported any injuries and the investigation was still ongoing as of 8 a.m.
