Phoenix police are investigating a pair of shootings that left two victims wounded, a police spokesperson said Monday.

Officers responded to a shooting shortly after 12:30 a.m. Monday in the area 51st Avenue and Indian School Road, according to an email from Phoenix police Sgt. Maggie Cox.

A woman, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was found shot by an unknown person. Phoenix fire crews took her to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cox said officers are working to get a suspect description. The suspect vehicle was reported as a dark, two-door passenger car, she said.

In a separate case, Phoenix police officers responded to a shooting call about 3 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a business in the area of 35th and Glendale avenues.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police learned the man had a verbal altercation with another unknown person prior to the shooting, according to Cox. Officers are working to put together a description of the suspect.
