Members of a police task force shot two people as they attempted to arrest a fugitive Thursday night, Glendale police said.
The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. near 52nd and Northern avenues in Glendale, police said.
Glendale Officer Tiffany Smith said a police task force, which consisted of members from about six local and federal agencies, was attempting to arrest a fugitive “considered armed and dangerous” when the shooting broke out.
She could not confirm which agencies were involved or what prompted police to fire their weapons.
Two men were shot by police and taken to a hospital, she said. Their conditions were not immediately provided late Thursday.
A third man was not injured and was taken in for questioning, Smith said.
No officers were injured.
Additional details about the suspect who was being sought were not immediately provided by police.
