Two people were taken into custody after shots were fired at a bus with five passengers aboard shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Gila River Police Department.

A Gila River Public Transit bus driver reported that two juvenile males shot at the bus near 51st Avenue and Pecos Road, damaging the bus cab and window, according to police spokeswoman Caroline Brown.

No injuries were reported, Brown said.

The two shooters were seen getting into a maroon passenger car that officers later spotted at Beltline Road and 16th Street in Chandler, Brown said.

Officers conducted a high-risk stop and detained two juveniles, Brown said.

No further details were immediately available.

An investigation was ongoing.
