One person was killed and three others injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Phoenix, officials said.

The crash occurred near Seventh Avenue and Elwood Street, north of Broadway Road, Phoenix police said.

According to Phoenix fire officials, one adult was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman also was trapped in her vehicle and extricated before being taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition, fire officials said.

The third patient suffered minor injuries.

Officials said it appeared one vehicle T-boned another at the intersection.

Phoenix police were at the scene investigating the cause of the collision. Traffic was restricted in the area.

Traffic on Seventh Avenue is shut down from Watkins Road to Broadway Road. Police expect the road to be shut down through the afternoon commute, Sgt. Tommy Thompson said..
